Objectives
- The aim of this work package is the systematic analysis of the networks investigated by the research units of the FRIDA project by using different network measures and indices. The results of this work package will be needed in order to proceed with the empirical analysis (WP5) since different network measures/indices will be used as independent and/or control variables.
Description of work
Task 5.1 Data preparation/conversion to the input format of specialized software packages for the purpose of network analysis.
Task 5.2 Formal descriptions of the investigated networks (regional scope, actors and ties/relationships)
Task 5.3 Application/calculation of various network measures/indices (centrality score, coreness value, structural equivalence, connectivity, etc.).
Task 5.4 Elaborating the connections between 1) measures describing organizations’ structural positions and the logic by which non-local partners are selected and 2) the innovative output and the survival rate of firms.
Task 5.5 Analysis of the evolution of regional clusters and of networks as a whole.
Task 5.6 Specification of global roles, positions and subgroups and the investigation of the relationships between these measures and the impact of the network on regional development and Anchor Organization emergence.
Task 5.7 Exploring the interplay of small and large firms in fostering regional growth and internationalization. Analysis of the formation of networks of interfirm relationships to tap complementary resources and capabilities
